Barbecue time is back, therefore
I recommend you make your own burger,
Lean Ground Bison or Beef Meat 650 g (Bison from “Startek
Farm” on Shirly Rd.)
Lean Ground Pork 350 g
Whole eggs 4
Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs 150 g
1 med. yellow onion, fine diced
Fresh chopped Thyme 2 tbsp
2 cloves of garlic fine minced
Fresh ground pepper, sea salt to taste
Few drops of Tabasco
• In a mixing bowl place bread crumbs& add the eggs, blend
well and let sit for a few minutes.
• Dice the onion & sauté in olive oil until transparent,
add the minced garlic & chopped thyme. Sauté 2 more minutes,
let cool before mixing it with the meat!
• Blend all ingredients well, season with salt, pepper &
hot sauce and shape meat into round balls (app. 100 g or larger)
and B.B.Q.
• Serve with caramelized onions on a fresh Kaiser roll.
• Make sure they're cooked inside, but don’t overcook,
bison meat dries out quickly.
Serve with a glass of Shiraz wine.
