Karen Dair recognized as outstanding volunteer

HAMPTON-- And the award goes to...Karen Dair.

At a 4-H annual meeting and conference held recently in Barrie, Ms. Dair, a resident of Hampton, was presented with a Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Award for outstanding volunteering in the program.

" Karen is a dedicated, committed, organized and talented individual with a passion for life that shows through in her 4-H and community involvement," said Evelyn Chambers, 4-H Ontario's volunteer support services manager.

During the ceremony, Ms. Dair's nominators from the Durham East 4-H association described her as a mentor, coach, mediator and resource person. She credited 4-H for her personal successes.

Ms. Dair has promoted 4-H programs at the local, regional and provincial levels. She revived the Region 3 Council and served as regional director. Considered by her peers to be a gifted composer and director, Ms. Dair has offered her services to the community by composing plays and skits. She is an active member of the Solina Women's Institute and participates annually in the Lions Guide Dog Walk and the Terry Fox Run.
